If you're reading this.. it means the happy launch of DEFSF.COM 1.5!
+++It's taken several years to reach this point. Starting in 2003 with the launch of the beta site,
on through the years of promoting techno events, losing money, nervous breakdowns, system collapses,
struggles with arcane web languages and code. . . -there have been ups and downs and a certain lack of focus
at times, but through it all, with trial and error, we are here with what works and is what is the most true.
+++Originally, our site was a 'West Coast Techno portal' as DJ Solekandi puts it, but there were too many glitches
and imperfections in the mix in the original site to contend with and it had since fell into disrepair through
neglect. It was decided by our longtime collaborator and compatriot ESC [Ed Colmar] to wipe the slate clean and start anew.
+++After a major redesign and site mapping we have come upon a more journalistic site that pays homage and respect to the
artists and DJs that are shaking up the current state of affairs on the West Coast. We will still focus on party reviews,
calendars, DJ charts, and event postings. But will also provide more insight as to what West Coast techno is
and where it may be going. I am always hesitant to say this, but 'in the future we will have' a full streaming
internet radio service, downloadable videos, mp3 clips, music store, photo gallery and a flyer archive.
+++So post up, be patient and enjoy what's on the site so far because DEFsf's West Coast techno project is
still very much a work in progress... Of course, if you are in the mood for volunteering time to DEFsf.com and
love techno with a passion we are always looking for help. Look us up! `;)
