Drumcell on Myspace
Droid Behavior
Drumcell has been building his audio production repertoire since grade school. Early on he found himself hanging around Hollywood recording studios and learning his chops in production and sound engineering. He also took up guitar and drums and soon found himself gigging with various garage bands. A self-proclaimed audio-phile he began too absorb the musical culture around him.

Before even hitting high school, Drumcell was introduced to LA's underground dance culture. The music left a deep impression on him and he soon found himself addicted to the harsh gritty sounds of acid, gabber, industrial and hard techno. He took to the decks and started collecting records to satisfy his vinyl fetish. Inspired by the music around him Drumcell started producing and performing as a DJ and live PA. He took his musical expertise too another level with local friends and released a record series on label eMAyDe12. The records were battle scratch DJ tools aimed for broader audiences then the usual hip hop/turtablists. By utilizing techno inspired sounds the records presented abrasive drum loops, dirty breaks, raw electronic funk and fresh sounds to unsuspecting DJs.

Drumcell took the next logical step and earned his degree in audio engineering at the Musicians Institute. Working in various studios he tracked countless bands and recording artists of many diverse genres of music. Keeping true to his roots of all things dark and hard, Drumcell refined his musical tastes and began to network with surrounding techno heads. He shared their frustration with the current state of electronic music but remained hopefull. He then hooked up with long time friends Acid Circus after years of partying in deserts, backyards and various warehouses and formed Droid Behavior; an organization of like-minded individuals set to recreate interest in techno music. The need to express LA's untapped creativity brought about the DROID Recordings label. Headed by Drumcell, the label aims to explore his forward thinking musical vision. The first release contains quality music by up and comers: Fabrik Nos, Andres Oscuro, Critical and Drumcell himself.

Drumcell has been known to keep on the edge of technology and continuously pushing the limits to what the future has to offer. He is always in the process of developing homebrew software as well as cutting edge hardware solution to bring a fresh innovative taste to his production and performances. When performing, Drumcell can be seen blurring the lines between a live and a DJ set by utilizing tools such as FX processors , samplers ,drum machines and other devices to weave a thick blend of acidic techno and aggressive but funky minimalist grooves to ensure a frenzy amongst his listeners.

With the state of electronic music in North America leaning towards stripped down funk rather then progressive fluff these days, Droid has become the center for LA techno and Drumcell remains steadfast in his mission of putting this city on the global map.
