San Francisco techno artist and DJ, Patrick Gil is a techno head that keeps a low profile despite having made his mark on both domestic and international labels such as, Alex Under’s CMYK, Advanced Human’s Gynoid and Hypnotic Room, Luke Hess’ Deeplabs, and Mac Vaughn’s Fierce Animal Recordings. Patrick’s successes seem to owe a lot to his innate ear for mixing and maximizing the creative potential out of a limited sound palette. This should be no surprise, as he’s an experienced sound engineer and technician who can visualize the impact of a sound on a room from it’s origins in the studio, to a room full of people standing in front of massive speaker stacks. As a DJ, Patrick Gil has not been one to shy away from the spotlight, having warmed up the decks for and appeared along side: Truncate, Marcel Dettman, Heiko Laux, DVS-1, Dustin Zahn, Raiz, Bryan Zentz, Max Cooper, Mike Huckaby, Jeno, and Marc Houle at many a party in the Bay Area and as a resident for SF and Oakland’s favorite techno crew, Direct to Earth (DTE).
